OctSunday,

Dimdim, if they do what they are saying they will do then they are surely on for some big time, and might be accquired by some big fish for some hefty sum. But thats a late call, istead a very late call.
Presently they are at alpha stage. Ahh I am so excited that I forgot to mention, that what they ae doing.

Ok as Webyantra wrote it,

It may sound anachronous today, but not too long ago, you had to pay money to use email. The default email company (circa 1995-96) was Prodigy, till Hotmail came along and changed the rules of the game. Something similar happened with Skype, which has all but sounded the death knell for conventional international telephony. And now, a ‘made-in-India’ product is attempting to do to web conferencing companies (WebEx/GoToMeeting), what Hotmail & Skype did to their respective competitors.

And I agree, since they are open source they might jut be able to do it. Basicaly, Dimdim, as they say ,are an opensource web confrencing company. Providing users with presentation, application and desktop showing capablities over internet. But on product page they are talking about some sort of price point which they are not making clear, they are also not telling that what would be attached strings to their free model.
But one thing is for sure that this Indo-Us company is on for something big.

Go and check their demo.

A very nice attemt by an Indian group of, its a niche product, and can just have a cult following, very much like 43things(including its brother and sisters). I feel when you are in web2.0 group, which Tezaa indeed is, then two things matter like two sleeves, looks and content. I think Tezaa scores on both point. Lookwise its calm and not sense pushig.
It can surely have cult following.
They also have a code that can be put on blogs and sites(but not on MySpace, as it does not support javascript-they should look into this).
I would like if they remain dynamic(they have recently changed their look).
I would love to see tag cloud on front page. They shoud try to make it addictive, it might require some heavy coding but I mean to say is that their consecutive pols are not at all linked. I believe that people will hook more if they get a kind of a chain of polls. They are not having any expiry for polls, it means that they will have zillions of polls, but how would I know that there is a poll on nuclear science, it might not showup in their tag cloud as tagclouds support limited number of options. For that I think they should just put some catteogries field.
.
.
.
And yes one last question which I would like their makers to really think about... How are they going to keep it running. I saw no ads, not even google text ads... Hmm... and I think they can have a successfull revenue generating model.
.
.
By the way as an end user I am hooked to it.
My advice >>> Go check it.

OctFriday,

I was thinking and was explaining about all this vlogging phenomenon to someone very close to me. She only asked me one question, What next?
Bhum... Haisha, haisha, my excitement, my enthusiasm, all fell down.
But, yes her question was very logical indeed. What next... We have got nearly 10 clones of You Tube, and there is lot of egarbage over there and might remain there till eternity. But by now I have started feeling a kind of a trend. We had many generic video host and now we will have specific video hosts. My Spcae is trying it in a very different way, they are bringing in competetions. Though I have forgot the names but ther are also few talent hunt kind of video hosts. And there soon will be all comedy centric, all horror centric kind of not so You Tube clones.
But even that will amount to same strata development, what about meta-vlogging. Google most probably will integrate ads with videos, sooner or later, thats what I think. But that all is not something meta, its that nobody except Google had any power similar to what Ad-Sense provided it, and nobody had the vision for You Tube. So be it... they in any case wont be helping me in my assignments.
But the question( though I have thought of few answers) still stand, What next.

OctThursday,

Toufee was covered by few blogs, and now its my turn. This toufee, is better than previous attemts by many players, because of its light weight nature. You can make flash based films with real ease, it means that you can make what youtube can make. And it recquires no special knowledge.
Technicaly its very sound, but astheticaly its not. They should take measure for it, and I think they will surely take them. Webservices of any kind is presently very hot, and is brimming with many players, so if one is planning to jump in, it should get both of sleeves right.
But hey... Whats the business model?
How are they going to keep it running.

I would suggest all you readers to give its simplicity a try. And do give them suggestions...thats the power of web.

What Adobe has to say about ADE, which is is in beta.

Adobe Digital Editions is a completely new way to read and manage eBooks and other digital publications. Digital Editions is built from the ground up as a lightweight, rich Internet application (RIA). Digital Editions works online and offline, and supports both PDF and XHTML-based content.

If anybody shall ask me a question that why is PDF so popular? Then my reply wont be 'security' but my one word answer would be 'integration', its so well integrated with browsers that you even dont feel it as some external programme. Where as Microsoft reader which i feel is more user friendly(at least for reading purpose) is not supported over internet. I even feel that same document when coverted over PDF is more bulky as compared to that converted for reader.
I think any competetior if launches an opensource variable of PDF wil be more successful than PDF itself. Lets see what happens next, but for now ADE is on my compuer and acting nicely. Its much like a competetior for MS Reader. Adobe tried something very similar long back with portable PDF reader, for mobile devices.

Its having nice looking black interface, but I wouldadvice you to wait fo few months andthen look for it to download but if you want to download it now the go here.

I first knew about it through Mashable. Peter Cashmore have covered it very nicely over there. Its in private beta, it means they are on for limited members. I have applied for beta tester. As of what I have read and on the basis of what I have seen as a promo, it seems nice. As I feel the other similar services were not providing enough coustom capablities. This one(what it seems now) is pretty good. I allways feel that things should not be just limited to web but should be seamlessly integrated to physical world, and and kind of transfer should be fast.

I would write more about it and more in later posts.

Yes, Google after the You Tube is once again in light. Once again their team is followin, what Sergey told them, 'Features not products'. And they are really concentrating on it. First it was reader( of which I am an addict) and now it is co-op. Though this Co-op is a kind of new product but it still take root from one very popular product of Google. Their search API. Yes now they have launched a search API which one can tweak to bring results from selected sites. Great...
Oh not that great because its already being done by other players like Yahoo. But still when Google is attachedto some product, then it also have some different halo. And let me tell you that Googlers knew it beforehand and they integrated it with another of their service of which google make its bread, yes guessed rightly; Ad-Sense. It would be an ad supported thus opening another stream of revenue for yoursite and blogs.

The baest part of it is the integration with Adsense.

I am waiting for google ad integration for videos, because now they have biggest library of user generated video in form of You Tube.
